How We Work

Five steps from first call to handoff. Every engagement follows this discipline.

The engagement arc

Every engagement follows the same five-step process. The depth and duration vary by company stage and need, but the discipline does not.

Step 01 -- Discovery Call

30-minute conversation. We learn about your company, your stage, your challenges, and what you need from a CFO. You learn about our approach and whether there is a fit. No pitch. No pressure.

Step 02 -- Diagnostic

We review your books, cash position, financial infrastructure, and team. Deliverable: a written diagnostic readout with findings, risks, and recommended next steps. Typically 1 to 2 weeks.

Step 03 -- Proposal

Based on the diagnostic, we propose a scope of work, timeline, team assignment, and engagement terms. You decide. No hidden fees. No surprise invoices.

Step 04 -- Execution

Your embedded CFO begins. Weekly check-ins with the CEO, monthly steering with the leadership team, quarterly board-level reporting. We deliver against the scope and adjust as the business evolves.

Step 05 -- Handoff

We build internal capability, document everything, and step out when your team is ready. Our goal is to make ourselves unnecessary. A successful engagement ends with a handoff letter and an open door.

Six principles that govern every engagement

Financial truth first

We tell you what the numbers say, not what you want to hear. If your burn is unsustainable, we will say so. If your unit economics do not work, we will show you why.

Build, do not borrow

Every engagement includes capability transfer. We document processes, train your team, and leave behind playbooks. Our goal is to build your internal capacity, not create dependency.

P-03

No conflicts

We do not refer to brokers, do not earn commissions on deals, and do not hold equity in client companies. Our incentive is your financial clarity, period.

P-04

Written scope

Every engagement has a written scope of work. If something is out of scope, we say so before it becomes a surprise. Scope changes require written amendment.

P-05

Weekly cadence

Weekly check-ins with the CEO or designated executive. No monthly ghosting. If we are engaged, we are present and accountable on a weekly rhythm.

P-06

Step out on time

We plan the handoff from day one. When the scope is complete and your team is ready, we leave. No stretching the engagement. No manufacturing new work.
